Giving Tuesday is a Global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. Created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good - it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give.
Tompkins Corners Cultural Center is a 501 (c)(3) Nonprofit Organization. Your donation is fully tax deductible.
We ask for your help just once a year during the Thanksgiving season. It is your generosity that makes it possible for us to fulfill our mission of preserving our historic site, while bringing to the public programs of the highest quality. Why is this year more than any other? You already know the answer… and why, more than ever, we are grateful for your support.
Last winter we were eagerly anticipating and preparing for our sixth season, filled with music, theater, visual arts classes and exhibits, poetry, Tai Chi and community events. We opened on March 4th with a delightful evening of entertainment by Mike and Ruthy.
And then, like so many other organizations, we closed down to protect everyone from Covid-19. In the next few months we learned how to Zoom and began to present virtual events -eventually presenting 30 virtual events from March through December! We also hosted the Farmers Market and two well attended outdoor events, while continuing to maintain and preserve our beautiful historic church and land that stand elegantly above Peekskill Hollow Road, symbolizing the history and beauty of this gateway to the Hudson Valley.
At the very beginning of the pandemic, we said to one another, “We’ll get through this…together.” We still feel that way, and we hope that with your generosity, the “together” will include you. Your donation, however large or small, will help us continue to live up to and build on our mission: bringing tradition, the arts and community together in Putnam Valley, New York, and to move into 2021 with hope. Thank you so much for your support. More about #GivingTuesday click here: #GivingTuesday
