Welcome to Theatre at Tompkins Corners!
The live theatre experience has been part of Tompkins Corners since the very beginning. Our first indoor performance, on October 24, 2015, featured veteran actor Paul Savior, reading the poetry of Edgar Allan Poe. See the video HERE. We have welcomed local groups like the Aery Theatre Company in readings and performances of one-act plays, and the Spotlight Theatre Company with their evening of cabaret in “Forever Broadway!” In 2018, we received an Arts Link grant from the Putnam Arts Council to present three performances “from the page to the stage” including two plays by Alice Jankell (“Seven Nights” and “The Sweet Spot”) and an outdoor presentation of “Dirt, the Secret Life of Soil” by the regional production company, Arm-of-the-Sea Theater. Putnam Theatre Alliance! We are excited to announce that we have joined with Arts-on-the-Lake in Lake Carmel and the Philipstown Depot Theatre in Garrison to create the Putnam Theatre Alliance. Our mission: work together to deliver daring theatre to the Hudson Valley and present the region as a hub for the development of top-quality productions. We’re looking forward to presenting new works on an ongoing basis and will continue to welcome guest theatre companies as well. Something for everyone who loves live performance! Much more to come! Be sure you are on the Tompkins Corner’s Mailing List to get the latest on all upcoming events! |
