About Our
Poets' Corner
On Our Outdoor Stage
or in our historic Carriage House in case of inclement weather
TCCC's season ends in December and resumes in March each year
Featured Poets
Each month at Poets' Corner we start our event with a featured poet. These poets are extraordinary in their own right and many have been published with interesting connections to the literary world. Our feature reads for 15 minutes and then the mic opens to all who wish to read.
A Welcoming Place to Read
At Poets' Corner we welcome seasoned writers and those just starting alike. It's a place to try new work, read from your new book, and to meet other writers and lovers of poetry. Feel free to come read work other than poetry as well. We only ask that you stick to the 5 minute time limit.

In the spring of 2019, fellow poets and writers came together to bring an open mic series to Tompkins Corner Cultural Center. This monthly event has brought together an impressive group of talent and excitement.
We meet once a month on Sundays from 3-5pm and open with a fine featured poet. After the feature, the mic opens for those who wish to read. We ask a $5 donation and request 5 minutes maximum for reading. Open to writers of all types. You will be asked before the event begins to sign up if you wish to read. Poets will be called up in the order in which they signed up. We meet outdoors in the nice weather, and now during the pandemic. Our outdoor stage is in the shade on the grassy knoll with a forest behind us. In case of inclement weather, we read inside our historic Carriage Shed complete with lighting. We look forward to going back inside our history building but not until the pandemic has ended. Having our poetry readings in this restored landmark church of Tompkins Corners is such a joy. The stage is welcoming and atmosphere warm as voices ring out to the vaulted ceilings and throughout the pews. TCCC has lovingly restored the old church with a stage complete with lighting. We welcome readers and writers of all stripes; poets, storytellers, novelists more. Professionals and novices have come to try something new or read from their new books. Join us in this beautiful center with our growing literary group - and bring your friends! |
