Swing du Jour Quintet
Gypsy Jazz on our Outdoor Stage!
Saturday, July 12th, 6:00 pm
Time to kick off our outdoor concert series!
Swing du Jour brings the infectious energy of Gypsy Jazz to life, blending traditional jazz, romantic ballads, and hot swing with flair and finesse. Inspired by the legendary Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli of the Hot Club of Paris, the group adds its own twist to classic American and European standards—think "Sweet Sue" or "Georgia on My Mind" reimagined in the vibrant Gypsy swing style. Based in Southern Connecticut, this all-acoustic quartet features some of the region’s top jazz talents: Howie Carlough on violin, Norman Plankey on rhythm guitar, Danny Elias on clarinet, and Jamie Doris on upright bass. Their tight-knit chemistry and spirited performances have earned praise like “irresistible” and “amazing” (Jim Motavalli, EV blogger). Whether you're a seasoned jazz fan or a newcomer, Swing du Jour delivers upbeat, toe-tapping music that’s sure to delight. Bring a lawn chair and a picnic, if you’d like. Light refreshments will be available. In the event of rain, this show will be held indoors. Tickets may also be purchased at the door. Students are FREE! |

Professor Louie and the Crowmatix will bring their mix of rock, rhythm, and blues back to our outdoor stage—music that continues to expand the borders of Rock, Americana, and Blues genres.
Performing since 2000 and averaging 150 shows annually across the U.S. and internationally, Professor Louie & The Crowmatix will bring songs from their new album Crowin’ Around, along with classics by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legends, The Band. This Grammy-nominated group of Woodstock All-Stars originally formed as the studio backing band for producer and musician Aaron "Professor Louie" Hurwitz during his work with The Band. Rick Danko, The Band’s bassist and vocalist, gave him the nickname “Professor Louie” in recognition of his contributions. Louie went on to collaborate closely with The Band, co-producing their final three albums in the 1990s. The group has released seventeen studio albums on the Woodstock Records label. Their latest, Crowin’ Around (2025), features 11 tracks—seven original, biographical songs by Professor Louie and Miss Marie, plus three new interpretations of songs by artists Louie has produced: The Band, Commander Cody, and Graham Parker. The album also includes an instrumental tribute to the visionary composer Moondog. Professor Louie’s Legacy Allstar Band continues to grow with talented musicians reflecting a unique vision of relationships and thoughts about this tumultuous world and the times we live in. Americana at its Best! |
Eddie Allen Jazz Quartet
Live on Our Outdoor Stage!
Saturday, August 16th, 6:00 pm
Trumpeter, composer, arranger, and author Eddie Allen is one of the most versatile musicians on the New York scene. Performing across genres—jazz (big band and small ensemble), R&B, Latin, symphonic, and Broadway—he has worked with legends Art Blakey, Dizzy Gillespie, Benny Carter, and Joe Henderson.
Eddie has recorded, performed, and composed for artists such as Mongo Santamaria, Lester Bowie, Vanessa Rubin, and Muhal Richard Abrams. On Broadway, he’s played in shows including Ain’t Misbehavin’, Black & Blue, and Jelly’s Last Jam. George Kanzler of The Star-Ledger (Newark, N.J.) said, “Allen’s trumpet and flugelhorn playing is marked by a playful inventiveness underscored by a slightly husky, almost vocal, tone and use of such swing trumpet strategies as smears, growls and glisses.” Joining Eddie are some of today’s most in-demand players, including acoustic bassist Kenny Davis, whose impressive résumé features work with Herbie Hancock, Benny Golson, and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno under bandleader Kevin Eubanks. Pianist, composer, and band leader Oscar Perez expertly combines the traditions of his Cuban heritage with straight-ahead jazz. He has worked with Wycliffe Gordon, Christian McBride, and Charenee Wade and has toured with Phoebe Snow. Rounding out the quartet will be drummer Tim Horner, ensuring a dynamic, swinging foundation for Eddie’s versatile horn explorations. Tickets may also be purchased at the door. Students are always free. Bring a lawn chair and a picnic! In case of rain, the show will be held indoors. |
Kieran Kane & Rayna Gellert
Celebrated Americana Singer/Songwriters
Friday, August 22nd, 7:30 pm
Tompkins Corners will welcome celebrated Americana singer/songwriters Kieran Kane and Rayna Gellert back for their third annual concert. The duo is touring in support of their new album, Volume 4 (out April 11, 2025, on Dead Reckoning Records), which reflects their minimalist musical approach with fresh twists.
The album revisits fan-favorite songs from past performances and features newly unearthed tracks from a batch of “lost” demos, offering an intimate look into their evolving collaboration. kanegellert.com Kieran Kane’s influential career includes groundbreaking work with The O'Kanes and the founding of the independent label Dead Reckoning Records. A respected solo artist and songwriter, his songs have been recorded by artists such as Alan Jackson, John Prine, and Emmylou Harris. His understated, groove-driven style always puts the song first. Rayna Gellert, a renowned fiddler, embraced Appalachian old-time music early on and helped revive string band traditions through her work with the acclaimed group Uncle Earl. Her arrangements of traditional tunes are now staples at square dances across the nation. Together, Kieran and Rayna explore a rich musical terrain that blends old-time string band traditions with thoughtful, roots-infused songwriting. |
Deni Bonet & Chris Flynn
Americana meets Folk-Rock
Saturday, June 28th, 7:30 pm
When ever Deni plays our room, the fire department is on high alert as she is incredibly smoking hot on that trademark blue fiddle. A must see!" ~ Jamey's House of Music, Philadelphia, PA.
Bonet’s voice and violin, and Flynn’s guitar and voice, have resonated in venues as iconic as the United Nations, the White House, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center, as well as on NPR’s Mountain Stage. They’ve shared stages with legends like R.E.M., Cyndi Lauper, Warren Zevon, and Sarah McLachlan, performing for audiences that have included everyone from festival crowds to U.S. Presidents—and even the FBI. As soloists, they've performed their original music with full symphony orchestras. And over the past five years, they’ve brought their combined talents to stages across Europe and the U.S.—from festivals and house concerts to libraries and radio stations. Expect engaging musicianship, lively performance, well-crafted compositions, and entertaining stories! The strong connection between these two seasoned, highly respected artists—and longtime friends—creates a chemistry that’s both rare and deeply engaging. Tickets may also be purchased at the door. Students are always free. |

Ensemble Sangineto
Italian Strings and Voices for World Music
Saturday, May 10th, 7:30 pm
Ensemble Sangineto is an eclectic group that seamlessly blends ancient harmonies and sonorities with modern rhythms. Drawing on the rich musical backgrounds of its members, the ensemble crafts fresh arrangements that span traditional Irish, Scottish, Breton, and Italian tunes, as well as original compositions influenced by a wide array of genres—from classical and folk to Gregorian chant, musical theater, pop, and Celtic music.
|
Formed in 2000 by twins Adriano and Caterina Sangineto, the group’s origins lie in a deep familial connection to music; as children of renowned harp and psaltery maker Michele Sangineto, the twins were immersed in ancient musical traditions from an early age. They later encountered popular music, with a special preference for the Irish, Breton, and French traditions.
The ensemble’s unique sound is defined by the delicate interplay between the ethereal tones of the harp and bowed psaltery with the rhythmic textures of the guitar and the intricacy of the three-voice polyphony. This combination creates a dreamy, ethereal atmosphere that feels both joyful and light. Over the years, Ensemble Sangineto has evolved, embracing new challenges and broadening its artistic vision. Today, the ensemble is further enriched by the contributions of guitarist and bouzouki player Jacopo Ventura, who joins the original duo to help drive its creative journey. |
Moved Indoors
Pete Seeger Festival
Sunday, May 4th, 2:00 pm
This is a FREE, family-friendly event that will be outdoors if the weather permits or indoors if it rains. Donations will be gratefully accepted and shared with local organizations that Pete created, including the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, the Beacon Sloop Club, and the River Pool at Beacon.
New this year will be a group of young performers from Cold Spring, the “MOVE Choir,” under the direction of Linda Richards. They will join veteran performers David and Jacob Bernz, Betty and the Baby Boomers, Roy Diggit, Rick Nestler, Laurie Siegel and Patrick Stanfield Jones, Joe Kaminsky, RJ Storm and the Old School Bluegrass Band, the Trouble Sisters, and Sarah Underhill. Linda Richards and the MOVE Choir are unable to perform today. Many of the musicians were Pete’s friends, who performed with him, sailed with him on the sloops Clearwater and Woody Guthrie, and worked with him at the Beacon Sloop Club. In addition to singing Pete’s songs and their own, they will reminisce about the man who inspired so many people in the course of his 94 years. |
TCCC will present our ninth annual Pete Seeger Festival to celebrate the musical, environmental, and humanitarian legacy of our neighbor, mentor and friend.

TCCC Fall Benefit at Camp Combe
With Jay Ungar and Molly Mason
Sunday, September 29th, 2 - 5 pm
TCCC deeply values our community and relies on your support to continue bringing Tradition, the Arts, and Joy to Putnam Valley. Join us at Camp Combe, just a stone's throw from the Cultural Center, where ample parking and the camp's rich history await you. Come together with friends and neighbors for a great afternoon while you help us grow and thrive!
We're "calling" on you to spend a Fall afternoon immersed in extraordinary music, delicious food and beverages, and a vibrant sense of community. Experience the beautiful music of Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, masters of music and storytelling, and square dancing with Liz Slade. |
Jay’s fiddling is brimming with playfulness, drama, soulfulness, and technical verve as he explores the many musical styles and idioms he has internalized and made his own. Molly’s total mastery and inventiveness on piano and guitar is always spot-on, as she supports the tunes and follows the flow of the melody. Her rich and expressive vocals, along with the resonant strains of Jay’s violin, reveal the deep emotions that flow in the duo's veins.
Millions were entranced by the music they did for Ken Burns’ PBS documentary The Civil War. Their performance of the series’ signature tune, Jay’s haunting composition, “Ashokan Farewell,” earned the couple international acclaim. The soundtrack won a Grammy, and “Ashokan Farewell” was nominated for an Emmy. |
